The Moving Skeleton
At the end of June, we moved our almost 200kg Minke whale calf skeleton downstairs, which is not nearly as easy as it sounds…

Hvalaskóla / Whale-School
A new educational project is on its way. Established and conducted by Húsavík resident Þórhildur Jónsdóttir, the Whale-School is a 3-day workshop for school children and includes whale and ocean related activities.

Cameras instead Harpoons
On May 8th 2007, eco-acitivist Bernhard Bechter and his team visited the Husavik Whale Museum. The 39 year-old Austrian has planned to cycle around Iceland, pulling a coffin painted with the Icelandic flag, to seek the dialog on the contradiction of whale watching and commercial whaling in Iceland.

The Season Start
This year´s season started not only with lovely temperatures and lots of sun in April (yes, global warming reaches Iceland...), but also with abundant wildlife in Skálfandi Bay.

Support and Acknowledgement
On April 27, 2007, Iceland’s Minister of Education, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, paid a visited to the Whale Museum and she brought a great gift with her: financial support of the Museum for the next three years, 2007-2009.
