A new educational project is on its way. Established and conducted by Húsavík resident Þórhildur Jónsdóttir, the Whale-School is a 3-day workshop for school children and includes whale and ocean related activities.

On May 8^th 2007, eco-acitivist Bernhard Bechter and his team visited the Husavik Whale Museum. The 39 year-old Austrian has planned to cycle around Iceland, pulling a coffin painted with the Icelandic flag, to seek the dialog on the contradiction of whale watching and commercial whaling in Iceland.

This year´s season started not only with lovely temperatures and lots of sun in April (yes, global warming reaches Iceland...), but also with abundant wildlife in Skálfandi Bay.
