International Workshop on Marine & Nature-based Tourism

An international workshop about marine & nature based tourism with people attending from Iceland, Canada, New Zealand and Germany was held on the 5th and 6th of May in Húsavík and the Mývatn-area. The workshop was organised by the Regional Employment-Development Agency and aggregated local stakeholders with international advisors to evolve future projects in North-eastern Iceland.

2010 - A Year of Renovation at the Whale Museum

In the spring the entrance was moved to a restored area in the eastern part of the museum which now hosts the tourist information centre for Húsavík, together with the museum´s store.
