The Most Amazing Whale Watching Trip

A Humpback whale caused a once in a life-time experience for many people during the 10 o’clock whale watching trip on Saturday. An individual, who has not been spotted throughout the summer entertained the whale watchers by breaching consecutively for nearly two hours straight. While performing photo ID research, one of our staff was lucky enough to observe this rather rare spectacle and was able to take some of the most amazing photographs. According to Mike Tetley, the whale may have been feeding in greater depths, diving towards the surface with exhilarating speed. Other possible explanations for the breaching of Humpback whales are annoyance and aggression or to rid themselves of parasites.
