Our 10th Anniversary

On the 12th of July, the Museum celebrated its 10th anniversary and over 600 people, most of them Húsavíkans, decided to celebrate with us by enjoying a delicious birthday cake in the shape of a humpback whale! Having worked hard in the past 10 years, we very much appreciate the help and acceptance of the townspeople that supported and believed in us along the way.

After having expanded in 2002 and the ongoing improvements and updates of the exhibition, we can proudly look back on over 140.000 visitors that have enjoyed and learned about the whales in all these years.

Let’s hope that the next decade will be just as promising!
