In context of the International Academic and Research Week September 22^nd - 26^th, special events are taking place in many European countries, addressing scientific research to the public. The Icelandic Research Center (RANNÍS) supports the "Vísindakaffi", which is arranged to inform the local community about the research performed and gives the opportunity to meet the researchers. Organised by the Nature Centre and the Academic Center, Húsavík's Vísindakaffi is being held in the Whale Museum on the 23^rd of September. Researchers from the Nature Center, the Research Center, the Folk Museum and the Whale Museum will present their work concerning birdlife and the marine environment in Skjálfandi Bay.
